Ok, so in the spirit of repentance - and my promise to do better and make more post-  allow me to gist you about my visit to one of the 8 wonders in the world.

Yes, I said 8 because, hello, if my existence isn’t a world wonder, then what else could be? 😌

Ehn? Ehn?

So yeah…8 wonders.  

Now, let me tell you about the time I found myself standing in front of one of the wonders of the world - Chichen Itza.

Yup, Chiche Itza, in Mexico. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the new seven eight wonders of the world. 

So we got there and we had this tour guide who gives us gist and ‘facts’ about this place and its history. The thing is, Small thing, this guy will say ‘swears’ 😏 which only meant to me, that he was capping. Cz, oga why are you swearing when no one asked you? 

If I’m being honest though, I would say I really wasn’t feeling the whole ish… maybe because the sun was scorching or maybe because I had gone ahead to read about the Mayans and all the rituals and human sacrifices that were carried out in this place back in the day. 

Basically, like the young’ins would say, the place was giving human sacrifice and heatstroke. 😞

Add to the fact that Mr. Tour guide kept talking about gods, snakes, skulls and tell me why he showed us knives that were supposedly ‘sharp enough to cut off the human head in seconds!’

So last last, I was there for the photos as I stopped listening to him and started minding my business because at that point, everything he was talking about was none of my concern anymore.

Anyways, before I traumatize you people, let me share some photos. 

The first one… an epic fail. 

I saw the influencer type photo below and decided to recreate it… 

                                                                     

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, dudes and dudettes…

After about 2 million tries, this was the closest I got.

I guess influencer life is not part of my calling. 

*wipes lone tear*

I’ll end this with a few fun facts i found out about the pyramids… 

Though there is a very rich Mayan history behind all this, I wasn’t feeling it enough to go deep into it.

So if you want the full historical breakdown, abeg, google is your friend. 

* The Pyramids clap back! I had fun with this one, so when you stand in front of the main pyramid and clap, it echos and this echo sounds like a birds chirping. 

*The Pyramid is basically a giant calendar, it has 365 steps - one for each day of the year.

* Nobody really knows how it was built, no modern machines, no trucks, cranes and all that. Just people with serious determination.Yet, it’s still standing.

*It was a whole city, not just the pyramids.

* Tourists are not allowed to climb it anymore. Don’t come and fall and start calling their name. 

*approximately 2 million tourists visit every year… and if most of them are like me, they probably wont be coming back.

Wait a minute…

 Have you ever had a moment where you just had to pause and think….

Wait a minute…

Something about this doesn’t feel ‘right’. 

I did.

I just paused and thought… 

Not me…. turning 45!!!

But, but, but I’m still a baby girl na. 45 how? 

Ah’ah, my flabber is very gassted with this fresh information that by the time you read this, I would have turned 45; as my birth certificate claims (yes oh, claims) I was born by 7:25am on this day, 45 years ago… *gasps in 45!!!*

*Smiling in semi denial cz… baby gyal na, baby gyal I is!*

Ok, ok, forgive me, I’m just in a wee bit of shock. 

So how’ve y’all been? Good, great? Awesome! 

I just realized that my last post here was my birthday post last year and I may or may not have promised to do better and post a lot more…

But you know how it is, life be lifing and some things, though important, end up taking the back seat. 

Anyways, I am here now and it is another birthday!!! 

Yay!!!

Let me give you a lil recap of my 2025.

I started a small business, yes, I did! 😊

It has been rewarding and humbling and I totally love creating all lovely bead designs… I’m grateful for it! 

The real Vira (I shared about it here) turned 3! How time flies, right? 

I went on a few trips, and generally just mothering, wife-ing, office-ing, beading and WTF-ing my way through life.

Oh, I am officially a student again, I am on the road to being a Therapist! Pray for this 45 year old brain, pls!

Like i said earlier, life has been lifing and God has been God!!

So through all and for all, I am grateful. I am grateful for life, I am grateful for my family, for my friends; new and old… grateful for it all, honestly and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

This year, 2026 started tough.

But thankfully, I slowly picked myself up, gave it all to God and chose to believe for the best year of my life yet! 

And I tell you, it has been a good year already! 

My song for the year is El-Roi - this is my beginning! This song carried me through the tough first few weeks of the year, it is truly my song for the year. 

Errr, what else? 

Well, I do have plenty gists sitting in my draft folder and you’ll get to read them soon, as I get myself to edit and post.

So this is cheers to 45!

Amen to my best days ahead of me.

Amen to becoming everything I have prayed for.

Amen to choosing joy, peace, me and mine and who dey for me.

Amen to trusting my journey and loving where it is going.

Amen to being strong, capable and unstoppable.

And yes to becoming wiser and more me! 

Thank you all for the amazing birthday messages and love shown to my very very humble self, although na cash in a sack remain to complete the matter. 😁😁
